Our Borderlands 3 Shift Codes List takes a look at all of the working and available codes that can be redeemed for cosmetics, weapons, grenades, and more! These BL3 codes will usually get you some Golden Keys, which are used within the game to open up a chest on the Sanctuary ship that gives a bunch of loot based on your character’s level!
New Borderlands 3 Shift Codes
Borderlands 3 shift codes, however, these are single-use keys, so it’s best to wait until you’re a high-level Vault Hunter to use the keys that they generate, as this will give the loot a longer shelf life. Next up are the tweeted Borderlands 3 Shift codes, often with some strict time limits that can see them expire in hours or days. Plug them all in and quickly grab the keys or forever lose them.

How do Golden Keys and Shift Codes work in Borderlands 3?
The Golden Keys unlock a special chest that secures an epic item, usually a weapon. And to get Golden Keys, you’ll need Shift Codes which generally grant some Golden Keys. It’s like playing on a free slot machine, except that you guarantee an epic item, but not necessarily the one you need.
Some Shift Codes are likely to also unlock skins for Borderlands 3 hunters. In previous games, codes used to be tied to special events, and getting a Shift Code was the only way to unlock cosmetic items. However, in Borderlands 3 cosmetic items can also be obtained during the game.
The Gearbox may even have more plans for what you will be able to unlock with Shift Codes this time, but the way you redeem them remains the same. Just have a free account on the Gearbox Software website, which allows you to link a Steam, any console, Epic Games, or social media account.
What are Shift Codes?
Shift Codes are used to collect Golden Keys which unlock a chest on Sanctuary that will reward you will loot! They are distributed sometimes at random by following Gearbox and the Borderlands social channels, or they can be distributed during various events. You need a Shift Account to use the keys, so be sure to sign up for one.
How-to Get Golden Keys
Golden Keys can be obtained via Shift Codes. These Golden Keys can be used within the game to open up a chest that will give you random rewards. These rewards are usually a few weapons of different types that are at your current level. You can also get armor and grenade mods as well. Golden Keys are redeemable at Sanctuary 3, which is your main hub in Borderlands 3.
Collecting Golden Keys/Rewards
Once you get into the game, you might be wondering how to obtain the keys. Well, go into a game, open up the game menu, and press Social. You should see an envelope icon at the top, press that to go to the Mail menu. From here, you should be able to collect any Golden Keys you’ve obtained!
What are VIP Codes?
Gearbox started a ‘Vault Insider’ program that involves ‘Vault Codes’, which, as confusing as it may be, are different from Shift Codes. You can redeem Vault Codes to earn Vault Points in a variety of ways, such as filling out your profile, signing up for a 2K newsletter, and so on. It’s basically a great promotional campaign, but if you don’t mind being bombarded with advertising, you can unlock some interesting news for Borderlands games, including Borderlands 3.
Sign up on the Borderlands 3 VIP website to win a Borderlands 3 package, which includes a Children of the Ark weapon, an Echo Device cape, and five Borderlands 3 Golden Keys. You can also win some cosmetic items available only to VIPs.
