We applaud you for your initiative and deciding to embark on this journey to a new and improved smile! We are even more excited that you have come to us, at Islandsmiles Orthodontics, to guide you on this journey and be there every step of the way. Our goal is to provide you with the very best care for your unique problem in order to  achieve and maintain optimum dental health!

Your First Visit

At your first visit, we will be evaluating the need for and proper timing of your orthodontic treatment. Every orthodontic case is different and the doctor will want to look at your teeth, gums and face before determining the very best treatment plan for you.

Regular Visits

Regular visits are a necessary part of your treatment plan. Generally, we will want to see patients in braces every 6 to 8 weeks, and patients in Invisalign every 10 to 12 weeks – to check progress and make any necessary adjustments.

Debanding & Retention

On completion of your orthodontic treatment, retainers will be needed to maintain your beautiful smile and to hold your teeth in their new positions while your bones, gums and muscles adapt to the new positions of the teeth. Removable and/or fixed retainers (adhered to the backs of the teeth) may be used during this stage.
